Opus Finest Watercolour Paper Pad
Work into a finely crafted surface made by veteran papermakers for the likes of Morandi, DeChirico, and Picasso.
Opus Finest Watercolour Paper is a mould-made watercolour paper designed and produced in conjunction with a European paper mill. When European papermaking technology was in its infancy, this mill was established on the banks of a small mountain river. The water was ideal for the task, fast moving and clear of silt, and the paper the mill turned out was of top quality. Six hundred years later, the mill is still in operation.
This paper is the ideal surface for the discriminating watercolour artist. It is a 100% cotton rag paper, weighing in at 300gsm with a cold-pressed and tub sized surface. The cylinder-mould machine it is made in creates two deckle and two torn edges, and the machine’s slow movement ensures even distribution of pulp fibre - creating a paper that is stronger when wet and incredibly uniform. This traditionally sized paper gives exceptional resistance to scratching and erasing as well as outstanding liftability.
This remarkable paper is cut straight and bound with a blue hardback cover and red coil. A red ribbon ties the whole package together, safely enclosing the 16 beautiful sheets within.
