The Hikigiri scissors were designed with artists in mind, putting emphasis on style, comfort and most importantly, performance.
In Japanese, the word Hikigiri means "pulling cut" which explains the manner in which the scissors slice into the paper; the top blade is designed to slices down onto the paper's surface in a pulling motion instead of the traditional press-down motion that you would normally see with standard scissors.
