Archival Museum Mat White (8.5x11 Window)
About Archival Museum Mat White (8.5x11 Window)Present your work with style, and protect it with museum quality mats. Our Archival Museum Mats come in a precut format in standard sizes. More economical and convenient than custom matting and easy and simple to use, just select the size you need.
Made using 100% cotton fibre Peterboro Museum matboards. They adhere to both FACTS and the Fine Art Trade Guild's stringent specifications for museum (100% cotton) matboards. They come with both a museum quality front mat and back mat, and include acid-free adhesive tape for hinging the front mat to the back. Packaged in a re-usable glassine bag.
These naturally acid- and lignin-free, calcium carbonate buffered mats have solid colour throughout their traditional 4-ply construction. Available in 5 standard sizes.
Why choose archival quality matting?
While modern manufacturing techniques have allowed for the purifying of wood fibers into alpha cellulose (the highest form of fiber purity), matboards made of cotton still remain the choice for many fine-art framers. Fine art prints on cotton papers have remained vibrant and intact for centuries, proving cotton's benefits. For this reason many museums and framers feel that cotton is not only a time-honored tradition, but provides the comfort and assurance that matted artwork will be preserved for future generations
